 Solemn Faith International Church News

The General Overseer of Solemn Faith International Church, located at Road 21, No. 14, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, Pastor Mathew James Eleojoh, has declared that the anointing of God carries the power to confront and overcome the challenges that often become annoying obstacles in the lives of believers.

Pastor Eleojoh made the declaration during a church service while delivering a powerful message titled “The Force of Anointing,” with scriptural references drawn from Isaiah 10:27 and Acts 10:38. His message centred on the transformative power of divine empowerment and the responsibilities that accompany an anointed life.

According to the pastor, one of the major functions of the anointing is to bring divine empowerment. Drawing from passages including 1 Samuel 10:1, Acts 10:38 and Acts 2:1–4, he explained that God empowers His people to accomplish assignments that are beyond ordinary human capacity.

He noted that divine empowerment is particularly important for consecration and sanctified living. Referencing Exodus 30:25–31 and Leviticus 8:10–12, Pastor Eleojoh emphasised that the anointing should produce a life dedicated to God, while also equipping believers to fulfil their God-given assignments and exercise dominion according to His purpose.

The pastor further taught that the anointing destroys yokes and liberates people from burdens that hinder progress. He identified various forms of yokes, including delay, evil connections, poverty, lack, premature death, sickness, disease and unproductive hardship, stressing that the power of God is able to break such limitations.

In a striking statement that resonated with the congregation, Pastor Eleojoh said, “It takes anointing to stop the things that are annoying.” He explained that divine empowerment enables believers to confront circumstances that appear persistent, frustrating or overwhelming, rather than allowing such circumstances to dictate the course of their lives.

He also described the anointing as a force that forbids occasions for mourning. According to him, the presence and power of God can preserve individuals and families from circumstances that would ordinarily bring sorrow, while turning situations of despair into testimonies of divine intervention.

Pastor Eleojoh described the anointing as a lifter of men, pointing to biblical figures such as Abraham, Moses, Solomon, Saul, David, Elisha, Hazael, Jehu and Peter as examples of people whose lives were elevated through divine encounters and empowerment. He stressed that God can take an individual from an ordinary position and raise that person into significant relevance when His purpose is fulfilled.

He further declared that the anointing preserves lives and properties. Citing Psalm 105:12–15 and Ezekiel 3:8–9, among other passages, he encouraged believers to recognise the protective dimension of God’s power and to trust Him for preservation in the midst of life’s uncertainties.

The message also highlighted lasting favour as one of the benefits associated with divine anointing. Pastor Eleojoh explained that God’s favour can open doors, attract uncommon opportunities and cause people to experience results that human effort alone may not produce. He urged the congregation to seek God’s favour rather than depend solely on personal strength.

He also said that, the anointing also carries good news. Referencing biblical accounts of divine intervention and unexpected breakthroughs, he encouraged believers to remain hopeful, noting that God has the ability to turn seemingly hopeless situations into testimonies that bring joy and renewed confidence.

Pastor Eleojoh, however, cautioned that the anointed must live responsibly. He identified holiness, prayer, sacrifice and consistent praise as essential elements of the lifestyle of an anointed person. He encouraged the congregation to make consecration a priority, explaining that spiritual empowerment should be matched with a life that honours God.

He further observed that a person’s speciality and peculiarity are often connected to what God has empowered that person to accomplish. He therefore urged believers not to hide their God-given abilities, stressing that “to be anointed and be hiding is to die without the fulfilment of destiny.” He also reminded the congregation that no one can successfully harm the person whom God chooses to preserve.

The service was marked by an atmosphere of deep spiritual engagement, with the congregation responding enthusiastically to the message, prayers and declarations. The gathering also witnessed what was described as a solemn voice and massive, mind-blowing testimonies, adding an atmosphere of gratitude and celebration to the service.

Concluding his message, Pastor Eleojoh urged believers to embrace a lifestyle of continuous good works, prayer, sacrifice and thanksgiving. He emphasised that the anointing is not merely for personal elevation but also for service, impact and the advancement of God’s purpose, declaring that when divine empowerment meets consecration, believers become instruments through which God can touch and transform the lives of others.
