The General Overseer of Solemn Faith International Church, Home of Praise, Woji, Port Harcourt, Pastor Matthew James Ele-Ojo, has charged Christians to understand and maximise the spiritual benefits of divine anointing, describing it as a powerful instrument for distinction, favour, wisdom, protection, increase and divine direction.

Pastor Ele-Ojo gave the charge during the church’s service on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the church auditorium located at Road 21, Plot 14, F.H. Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, where he preached on the topic, “The Mysteries of Anointing,” with Leviticus 14:15–18 and 26–29 as the major texts.

According to the cleric, Scripture identifies four major areas of the body associated with the application of anointing: the head, the right ear, the right hand and the right toe. He explained that each area symbolises specific spiritual functions and blessings available to the believer.

Speaking on head anointing, Pastor Ele-Ojo explained that it represents anointing for royalty, favour, wisdom and the seal of exemption, which he described as divine protection and preservation. He noted that the anointing of royalty brings distinction, honour and a change of status, identity and address.

He further taught that the anointing of favour attracts opportunities and positive relationships, while the anointing for wisdom empowers believers to make sound decisions and function effectively in life. The preservation anointing, he added, provides divine exemption from destructive circumstances.

On ear anointing, the pastor said believers need divine enablement to hear God clearly, receive good news and be protected from devastating reports. He stressed that those who hear God are positioned to receive divine instructions and direction for their lives.

Addressing the anointing of the hand, Pastor Ele-Ojo identified it with unstoppable increase, prosperous living, profit-making and the ability for divine power to flow through the believer. He encouraged Christians to seek the grace that enables their labour to produce lasting results rather than experiencing what he described as the “gathering and scattering” syndrome, where efforts yield little or no lasting benefit.

The pastor also highlighted the significance of toe and feet anointing, linking it to divine speed, possession of inheritance, divine direction, the breaking of barriers and the ability to cross limitations. He added that it carries the grace to escape danger and remain protected from harm, while also facilitating divine disconnection from negative circumstances and divine escape from threatening situations.

Pastor Ele-Ojo, however, emphasised that spiritual anointing must be accompanied by godly character and discipline. He counselled believers to maintain solid loyalty, meekness and humility before God, avoid lying tongues and remain strengthened in the Lord.

Drawing lessons from the biblical accounts of David and other servants of God, he warned against disloyalty and falsehood, stressing that believers must demonstrate integrity even when faced with opportunities to retaliate or advance their personal interests.

The pastor summarised the message with several memorable statements, including: “Your ointment determines your treatment,” stressing that the grace and spiritual capacity operating in a person’s life can influence how they are perceived and treated. He also declared that life gains attractions when favour comes, wisdom without impartation may lack favour, and the world gathers to hear those who hear God.

He further observed that good news can bring renewed strength and joy, while persistent bad news can negatively affect a person’s wellbeing and outlook on life.

The service was marked by a solemn atmosphere, powerful worship and what the church described as massive, mind-blowing testimonies, as members testified to God’s intervention in different areas of their lives.

In his concluding remark, Pastor Ele-Ojo reminded the congregation that every person is connected to a root from which they come, urging believers to recognise the importance of their spiritual foundation and maintain a relationship with God that produces positive results in their lives and destinies.
