The General Overseer of Solemn Faith International Church, Home of Praise, Port Harcourt, Pastor Matthew James Ele-Ojo, has declared that hatred, opposition and rejection cannot stop a person whose life is backed by divine grace and anointing.
Pastor Ele-Ojo made the declaration during the church service held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the church auditorium, Road 21, Plot 14, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, where he preached on the topic, “Anointing for All-round Settlement.”
Taking his biblical references from 1 Samuel 16:13, 2 Samuel 2:4, 2 Samuel 5:1–3 and Psalm 89:29, the cleric used the life and experiences of David to illustrate how divine anointing can transform opposition into opportunities for advancement and ultimately lead to greatness.
He explained that David’s journey from the pasture to the throne was characterised by rejection, opposition and challenges, yet none of them could frustrate God’s purpose for his life. According to him, while others saw Goliath as an enemy, David saw an opportunity to change his position and advance towards his destiny.
“Hatred does not stop greatness,” Pastor Ele-Ojo declared, stressing that the fulfilment of a person’s divine assignment is itself a demonstration of greatness.
He urged Christians to discover their potential strengths and deploy them effectively, noting that greatness requires the recognition and proper utilisation of the abilities and grace deposited in an individual.
The pastor identified seven principles necessary for making divine potential produce results: discovering personal strengths, appreciating great people, recognising and seizing opportunities, identifying the grace required for each season, deploying one’s full potential without reservation, approaching life in the name of the Lord, and maintaining a lifestyle of praise despite challenging circumstances.
He advised believers to recognise opportunities even in moments of opposition, saying that difficult situations could provide platforms for people to change their circumstances and move into a new phase of life.
“In opposition is the opportunity to change your position in life,” he said, adding that until people learn to see opportunities in opposition, they may remain trapped by the very circumstances capable of propelling them forward.
Pastor Ele-Ojo also cautioned Christians against seeking popular approval at the expense of their divine assignment, declaring, “If you chase the crowd, you may lose your crown.”
He emphasised the importance of identifying the appropriate grace for every season, explaining that even a good gift may fail to produce the expected result when applied at the wrong time or in the wrong circumstance.
The cleric further charged worshippers to maximise their peculiar abilities and deploy their full potential without reservation, stressing that individual uniqueness becomes meaningful when it is properly applied to fulfil purpose.
According to him, genuine all-round settlement goes beyond material prosperity, encompassing divine rest, stability, fulfilment and the completion of one’s God-given assignment.
He urged the congregation to approach life with confidence in God, stressing that divine involvement is essential to the success of every endeavour undertaken in His name.
“Until it is in His name, you will not get His involvement,” he said, encouraging Christians to make God the foundation of their pursuits and decisions.
Pastor Ele-Ojo also encouraged believers to maintain an attitude of praise regardless of their circumstances, noting that thanksgiving and unwavering faith could sustain them through seasons of adversity.
He concluded by urging Christians not to allow hatred, rejection or opposition to distract them from their purpose, stressing that when divine grace is at work, challenges can become opportunities and opposition can become a pathway to greater accomplishment.
