Solemn Faith International Church, Portharcourt
Pastor Mathew James Eleojoh of Solemn Faith International Church, located at Plot 14, Road 21, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, has emphasized the transformative power of praise, declaring that genuine praise has the capacity to dismantle age-long mountains, overcome persistent battles, and sustain ceaseless harvest in the lives of believers.
Speaking during Sunday’s worship service, Pastor Eleojoh delivered a sermon titled “Warfare of Praise,” drawing his principal texts from Psalm 149:6–9 and 2 Chronicles 20:21–23.
He explained that praise is not merely an act of worship but a spiritual weapon ordained by God to confront and overcome life’s challenges.
According to him, praise warfare is purpose-driven and must be directed toward specific mountains and battles confronting individuals.
Citing several biblical passages, including Psalm 68:1–2, 1 Samuel 16:23, and Zechariah 4:6–7, he stressed that whenever praise is genuinely offered, God intervenes to scatter every opposition standing against His people.
To reinforce his message, the cleric referenced biblical examples such as Joshua and the children of Israel, whose shout of praise brought down the fortified walls of Jericho; David, whose worship and praise brought relief and divine intervention; and King Jehoshaphat, whose appointment of singers before the army resulted in God causing Israel’s enemies to destroy one another without the Israelites lifting a sword.
Pastor Eleojoh outlined several reasons believers should engage in praise warfare.
He noted that praise dismantles long-standing mountains and persistent battles, invites God’s presence into life’s situations, disarms forces opposing increase and progress, and hands over battles to God, whom the Scriptures describe as the Mighty Man of War.
He further explained that praise causes confusion among the enemies of God’s people, establishes permanent victory, and sustains continuous harvest and increase.
He also highlighted practical principles for engaging in effective praise warfare, stressing that it must be intentional, knowledge-based, and focused on a definite purpose.
He urged believers to combine praise with joyful dancing, unwavering faith, living hope, and a determined resolve that refuses to accept defeat.
According to him, victory through praise is experienced when believers approach God with confidence and expectation rather than fear and despair.
Throughout the sermon, Pastor Eleojoh shared several thought-provoking declarations, reminding the congregation that no situation is too difficult to bow before the power of sincere praise.
He said that praise attracts God’s presence into the midst of conflicts, making Him the One who fights on behalf of His people.
He further described praise warfare as the divine strategy for sustaining ceaseless harvest, emphasizing that believers should confront their challenges with faith-filled praise rather than emotional reactions.
“In praise, you do not become emotionally excited; instead, you look at the mountain before you and bring it down through the power of God,” he declared, adding that whenever God is involved in any situation, undeniable results will always follow.
The service also featured soul-lifting ministrations by the church choir, Solemn Voice, alongside numerous testimonies from worshippers who recounted remarkable acts of divine intervention, healing, breakthroughs, and answered prayers, adding to the atmosphere of thanksgiving and celebration that characterized the worship service.
